Mexican Food in Paradise

Cholo’s is Hawaii’s Best Little Mexican Restaurant! One of the best places on all of Oahu to experience the island’s natural beauty and historic charm is hidden in the village of Haleiwa on the North Shore, making Cholo’s a true destination point.

Located in the North Shore Marketplace in Haleiwa. A wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes available in generous portions at great prices. Specials include fajitas, chile rellenos and fresh fish tacos.

Cholo’s is also a favorite spot for the North Shore’s big wave surfers to take a lunch break, or grab a few beers after the surfing is done for the day. If you stop at Cholo’s during a surf contest keep your eyes open, you never know who might drop in!

Where There’s Smoke, There’s BBQ Chicken

January 11, 2012 3 comments

Where there’s smoke, there’s Huli-Huli Chicken. This is one of those great “only-in-Hawaii” foods. It’s Hawaii’s own version of barbecued chicken cooked with Huli-Huli Sauce (made with pure Hawaiian brown sugar cane along with soy sauce, fresh ginger and more). If you plan to drive up to the North Shore of Oahu, make sure you stop by the town of Haleiwa where you can experience this mouth-watering chicken. Check out my future blogs as I talk more about this wonderful town. Here’s a link to the recipe if you plan to try this dish.
